ABOUT US

ABOUT

The Taiwanese Coral Reef Society was established in 1996, as a non-profit organization composed of scholars, diving enthusiasts, and institutions who are passionate about the ocean and coral reef ecosystems.

Our mission is to preserve the ecological balance of coral reefs and promote academic research activities. Grounded in science, we conduct surveys and studies to assess the health of Taiwan’s coral reef ecosystems and advocate for marine wildlife.

We submit our findings to government agencies as references for management, or transform them into popular science content to share with the public.

We also take action by organizing ocean and beach cleanups, ecological research workshops, and training camps, hoping to unite the efforts of industry, government, academia, and the public to protect the health and beauty of Taiwan’s coral reefs.
