Registration for the 2026 International Taiwan Coral Reef Symposium is now open!
The Taiwan International Symposium on Coral Reefs is hosted by the Taiwan Coral Reef Society and will be held at National Sun Yat-sen University (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) on June 6th and 7th, 2026.
This symposium will bring together domestic and international researchers studying coral reefs to share findings and seek collaborative solutions to the challenges facing these important ecosystems. We are looking forward to welcoming you all and we are excited to hear about your latest studies and insights.
The symposium will hold 10 sessions spanning a wide array of topics important to coral reef ecosystems.

2025 Delta International Symposium on Coral Restoration
This year, the Delta Electronics Foundation is partnering for the first time with the Taiwanese Coral Reef Society to host the Delta International Symposium on Coral Restoration (DISCR). The event will feature an impressive lineup of international experts in coral conservation and restoration, presenting the latest scientific research and technological advancements.
In addition, the organizers are launching the Delta Coral Research Paper Award and a Poster Competition, aiming to encourage students and early-career researchers to contribute to the field of coral ecosystem conservation and restoration.
Through this symposium and its associated awards, Delta hopes to foster collaboration among academia, industry, civil society, and government, working together toward the long-term sustainability of marine ecosystems.

Co-organized by National Geographic and the Taiwan Coral Reef Society, this special event features Dr. Hsuan-Ching Ho, who will explore the diversity, taxonomy, distribution, and recent discoveries of coral reef fishes in Taiwan. The lecture will also delve into endangered species assessments and their ecological implications.

The Delta Electronics Foundation and the Taiwanese Coral Reef Society proudly co-organize the 2025 Delta Coral Research Paper Award, which is now officially open for applications!
Award Purpose
This award encourages master’s and doctoral theses focused on coral conservation and restoration, aiming to support academic research that contributes to the protection of marine ecosystems.
Global Coral Crisis
Facing the global coral bleaching event of 2023–2024, UN reports warn that 90% of the world’s coral reefs are at risk of disappearing. Let’s work together to protect the reefs that support one-quarter of all marine species.
Eligibility
Master’s or PhD students currently enrolled in a domestic institution or who graduated within the past two years.

The “2021 Taiwan International Ocean Forum” aims to promote interaction and collaborative exchange between Taiwan’s industry, government, academia, and research sectors and experts and scholars in the ocean industry and marine ecological conservation worldwide. The forum not only provides a platform for knowledge and experience sharing but also offers guidance on future marine waste management, ocean energy development, and marine scientific research. At the same time, the forum seeks to expand the participation of Taiwan’s marine professionals in international affairs and demonstrate to the international community Taiwan’s commitment to engaging actively in global ocean-related matters, promoting Taiwan’s involvement in various international forums and ocean organizations.
