Event Description

Since its inauguration in 2005 by the Biodiversity Research Center of Academia Sinica, the Cross-Strait Coral Reef Conference has become a key platform for academic exchange among coral reef researchers across Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.

The 7th Conference is organized by the Taiwan Coral Reef Society in collaboration with the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium.

Held biennially, this conference provides an important opportunity for coral reef scholars and students across the Taiwan Strait and neighboring regions to exchange research findings and foster collaboration.

This year’s conference will take place at the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, adjacent to Kenting National Park—a location renowned for its world-class aquarium and proximity to natural coral reef environments. This unique setting offers both real-world and display-based perspectives of coral reef ecosystems.

In addition to academic and conservation research presentations, the conference will feature field excursions, providing participants with the chance to directly experience and explore coral reef environments. All coral reef researchers, conservationists, and marine resource managers from across the region are warmly invited to attend.
